Description
A long time staple of brass repertoire, Samuel Scheidt’s Galliard Battaglia has been brought to life in an assortment of ways by different arrangers over the years. This arrangement is for 4 trumpets.
Trumpets 1, 2, and 3 go as high as a printed, top-line F. Trumpet 4 goes to a printed, 4th-line D.
There is enough rest staggered throughout that young players can play this without endurance problems. And everyone gets to have solo moments!
This is suitable for trumpets who have been playing for only a year or two as well as players who have been playing up to 8 years or more. Or even for professional musicians who need something light on the chops to mix into an otherwise tiring quartet program.
Instrumentation: 4 trumpets
Duration: 2 minutes
Difficulty: early intermediate or higher
